Updated: 2 days ago

A brand new Romantasy series, filled with mystery and intrigue, love and loss, magic and feminine rage. Interested? Read on...

With a diverse cast of characters, a unique magic system and fantasy creatures popping up the more you read, this may be the next series you just cannot put down!

Note: I will be writing about each book in this series in the order of release. I will do a separate blog post on varying reading orders once that becomes a thing and enough of the series is out to be able to do so!

BOOK 1: Born of Steel

We kick off The Creatures of Orient series with book 1 (obviously...) titled Born of Steel. This first book is a single POV fantasy book, set in another world. The world of Orient is full of surprises; things that the sassy, badass FMC Skye Dahlia definitely didn't see coming. Magic is uncovered, secrets revealed, love is found and lost and found again, the villain is unmasked and may not be who you think. The characters go through some pretty intense periods of growth that they may hate me for. But they can shut up, because it's good for them. Well... it's for the plot.

You want to know more? I hear you. Well, here's the blurb of the first in the series, to give you a taste of what's to come...

Skye Dahlia is not innocent.

Not by a long shot.

Innocence tends to be lost at a very early age when you are raised in a Manor full of assassins.

And those assassins are after her head.

Preferably detached from her shoulders.

But Skye can't run forever.

Life in the Manor becomes far more complicated than she remembers. When someone from her past seems to link to most of the strange occurrences, Skye can't help but believe he will be the one to destroy them all.

Will she be able to solve the riddle before it's too late?

PREQUEL 1: Ash's Hunt

Ash's Hunt is a prequel novella, set directly before the events of book 1, Born of Steel. In this little taster, written in Ash's POV, we get to see exactly what he got up to while he was on his epic Drazea-scouring hunt for his lost love.

Here is the blurb for you to get a taste of what that might mean:

I will find her. I will bring her home. I have to.

Ashley Storm is on a mission: to find the girl he loves and return her to where she belongs. It doesn’t matter that she did something unspeakable. It doesn’t matter that she hurt him. She had her reasons and she will be able to explain when he brings her home. At least that’s what he tells himself.

But how do you find a master assassin who doesn’t want to be found?

Contains mature content: not suitable for a younger audience. Please check your trigger warnings.

The Mature content in question is as follows:

  • Murder and Torture (on page)

BOOK 2: Born of Fury

We continue The Creatures of Orient series with book 2, titled Born of Fury. This second book is a multiple POV dark fantasy book, set in the world of Orient. In this book, we see strong urban-gothic and thriller elements; embedded into a violent assassin-guild milieu. The magic is starting to build and pieces of the puzzle should be falling into place. Only Skye still doesn't have all the pieces, and her ancestors aren't being as helpful as they should be. As we go on this new rollercoaster with our Manor girlies, fighting against Orion and his mischevious schemes... will it all come together or will they be fractured forever?

You want to know more? Of course you do! Well, here's the blurb, to give you an idea of what to expect...

Skye has been gathering pieces of the puzzle — the conspiracy, the prophecies — but still cannot place it all together. Things aren’t looking good at the Manor. People are going missing. Being killed. All she wants is to protect the people she has left but time is running out.

Pepper lied to them all. She may or may not feel bad about it, but she never realised that she was one of the keys. Never realised what that would entail. It has landed her in a rather brutal straits and she can’t help but wonder what the fates have in store for her or what she did to deserve this.

Ivy isn’t that scared little girl from Ms. Charles’ basement anymore, but she is still a far cry from being a fully-fledged assassin. The loss of her teammates broke her more than she would admit out loud. She promised she would live for them, but her wilful determination and pride could either drive her to greatness or be the end of her.

All Ruby has ever known is the life of a princess, but the fates had a different path in mind for her from day one. Not that she knew it before, and she still doesn’t know what it really means. Fate has a funny way of bringing people together and revealing the details later.

With the slow return to power reshaping loyalties and driving everyone on their own missions of escape and revenge, will anyone come out on top?
